Manager - Data Architect

Responsibilities:

Lead the architectural design and implementation of a cloud-based data hub using Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Microsoft Fabric.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure the architecture aligns with business requirements, focusing on data governance, security, and performance.
Define the data ingestion and transformation pipelines, leveraging Azure Data Factory, Dataflows, and other relevant Azure services for ETL processes.
Create and optimize the data storage architecture, following best practices like Bronze, Silver, and Gold Zones for data processing and transformation.
Design and implement data models that meet reporting and analytics requirements, including star schemas and dimensional models.
Ensure the architecture supports real-time analytics, advanced reporting in Power BI, and adheres to role-based security standards.
Develop and manage the data governance framework, ensuring compliance with regulations such as GDPR and Digital Product Passport and implementing robust data security controls.
Work with Power BI or other visualization tools to design and deliver interactive dashboards, ensuring performance and scalability.
Support ongoing platform improvements, addressing pain points like query performance, data consistency, and data integration as highlighted in vendor proposals.
Collaborate on the UAT, deployment, and production phases of the project, ensuring a smooth transition from development to live environments.
Provide technical leadership and mentor other team members to enhance their capabilities in data architecture and BI technologies.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
7+ years of experience in data architecture, data warehousing, or related roles.
Strong expertise in Azure Cloud Services (Data Lake, Synapse, Data Factory, etc.).
Proven experience designing and implementing BI solutions using Power BI.
Proficiency in data modeling techniques, including ETL processes, data governance, and data security practices.
Experience working with external vendors and managing cross-functional teams.
Knowledge of data governance frameworks (e.g., Azure Purview) and security best practices (encryption, access control).
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese (including Mandarin)
